The top is a melange of wonderful paintings done by Lia Katz Robinson's sister Darla. Putting them together doesn't do them justice individually. They are all of Italy--the colors and style will be great on the walls. The fireplace they're propped up on isn't done yet--mantle and tile surround coming up. The next is the outside of the casita thus far. The tree surround has yet to be revamped. The landscaping isn't in yet. The next is a shot of the kitchen counter featuring the tile and some presents that are fitting perfectly--teapot from Nancy and David Bowser and biscotti jar from Serena and Erich. The candle I bought at the Bufadora--famous blowhole. I think I went there with Cindy and Robert Calderon last summer. The shot of the whole kitchenette with Lee at the table shows unfinished work. The pretty hanging lights aren't in yet, just the contractor's utilitarian ones. The handcarved cabinet doors are not there yet. The last couple are the shower and the bathroom sink with the really wild Mexican colors. We got some great furniture that will be delivered soon--bought it at the local furniture store which is really very nice. Range of prices and styles, so we found what we wanted. Great bar stools and matching chairs for the eating table. Sofabed, corner table etc--all should fit well. More pix won't be available till end of Feb when I go back again. That's when I'll do more fixing up with more decorative things. Just what's happened so far is great. Not much relaxing this last trip with all the moving in.
We did get to see (all too briefly) our new Ensenada buddies, Vince and Kathleen Taormina. They will be back in June, so hopefully we'll see them this summer.
