More baby pix of course

This is fuzzy Zio Steve, Nonna Loni, and Mamma Serena with our little cutie. Right now everyone but me is playing a Mario Brothers racecourse game. I tried briefly but I was driving by Braille so I decided to quit.

Horsetooth Mountain Park

Lee, Steve and I spent the morning on a hike in the local mountains. There is a prettier area called Cache Le Poudre, but that was too far for us to go today. Anyway there are some odd animals to be found....oh no wait, that's Steve...hm he did say he needed a haircut. The water pictured is Horsetooth Reservoir. It was a lovely hike, but I wish I'd had my inhaler. Yesterday Steve took a bike ride with Thompson, one of Erich and Serena's friends, up to the Reservoir but it was crazy windy so they couldn't continue.

Puffy eyes for all

Elena still looks cute tired and puffy-eyed. Not so for Nonna. Oh well, such is life.

News Flash!!!! Elena cries!!!!

Just had to record it for posterity, since it's so rare!!!

Crazy Uncle Steve with Elena

Steve flew in from London today. He was there for his interview at the Royal College. It was really fun to see him with Elena.

We went to Boulder today on the way to the airport in Denver. Pearl St is a wonderful walking promenade like 3rd St in Santa Monica, CA. Fun stores, street musicians, fabulous Latin restaurant where we ate marvelous Cuban food.

My splint is off today!! I will need lots of rehab. My wrist and thumb joints are SOOOOO stiff and painful and limited in motion, never mind my surgery site.

Winter scene and more pix of Elena

These are icicles on a plant right outside the condo. Now of course, typical of Fort Collins, the snow and ice are almost alll melted and it's sunny and warmer. Lee arrived yesterday and here he is with Elena. That is my piano from when I was 8 years old. I have a Christmas picture of Steve and Serena as little ones in front of it. Another pic is of Dr. Cloyd, the OB doc with the new family. Finally, the best pic of Elena I've caught so far. Mostly she's busy sleeping or eating. The contrast of her tiny hand with Erich's big one is quite amazing.

Finally a picture of Serena with Elena

This is the proud mama with Elena. Serena has been doing a completely bang up job breastfeeding and Elena is the perfect eating machine. We actually have to wake her every three hours to eat, she's too polite to cry. Then she chows down, and promptly goes back to sleep.

It's snowing here, and very pretty. I hope to do some snow pix tomorrow.

Almost forgot Laurel

Almost forgot Laurel Belk, holding the baby in the church. She's been Serena's friend since fifth grade, from when they were 10 years old or so. She is living only about 30 min away which has been really fun. She also has been very helpful of course. We made a wonderful huge pot of minestrone together. She helped me chop all the veggies since my hand is still an issue. I only have 12 more days in the splint. Thankfully I have the special molded splint instead of a thumb spica cast. Makes it much easier.

More pix of BBW (Best Baby in the World)

There are pix of Elena in her carseat, me holding her, her dad Erich holding her after her naming at the church, and one in the Moses basket that I made in 1980 for Serena. Bright calico and gingham very 80's!! Also the knitted blanket in that pic is the one I made for Serena. The yellow fuzzy blanket in the carseat pic is one of the ultra soft new fleece style that was from either the Schannons or the Bianchis I think. Her first Nordstrom's item!! Serena has actually been waking her for feeds when her milk comes in every 2-3 hours, hardly any crying. Serena's gotten some sleep. Erich, Mr. Night Owl, has been multitasking, taking the night shift so Serena can get more sleep. I almost forgot that pic. He can compute, eat, and hold Elena. No buildings to leap lately.

Better Pix of Elena

These are pix on the changing area. The hands are Nancy Enke's, Erich's mom. Everyone says they think she looks like Serena. I'm not sure, but certainly the mouth. She has been super good, only crying for food. Eating well, gaining weight. Serena is getting steadily better. Erich is feeling better too with more sleep. I am doing better thanks to earplugs to sleep with. I am really tired right now, so it's off to bed!

Elena Rosa Enke

These are very early pix. There are some before this from the c-section room. Elena decided to come breech!! I will post more pix when I get them. She is nursing well. Serena still has high blood pressure, so all three are still in the hospital. I have been taking lovely walks in the snow. I will post some pix of the lovely winter scene here in Fort Collins too.

Ensenada Casita 99% Done

This is the living area. We don't have the shades up yet. Also need some coffee tables or ottomans. The new sleeper sofa that Lee is on matches well with the old leather couch and armchair. Ditto the dining table chairs and bar chairs. The new furniture was all from a furniture store in Ensenada. Can't wait to get down there in May and actually enjoy. We've been working on shopping and setup every time so far lately. Oh yeah, my hand is better, Lee's leg is improving. My hand is much improved in the new splint which comes off Mar 30. Lots of progress on christening gown. Will post pix in a couple days.
