This is fuzzy Zio Steve, Nonna Loni, and Mamma Serena with our little cutie. Right now everyone but me is playing a Mario Brothers racecourse game. I tried briefly but I was driving by Braille so I decided to quit.

Lee, Steve and I spent the morning on a hike in the local mountains. There is a prettier area called Cache Le Poudre, but that was too far for us to go today. Anyway there are some odd animals to be found....oh no wait, that's Steve...hm he did say he needed a haircut. The water pictured is Horsetooth Reservoir. It was a lovely hike, but I wish I'd had my inhaler. Yesterday Steve took a bike ride with Thompson, one of Erich and Serena's friends, up to the Reservoir but it was crazy windy so they couldn't continue.
Steve flew in from London today. He was there for his interview at the Royal College. It was really fun to see him with Elena.
These are icicles on a plant right outside the condo. Now of course, typical of Fort Collins, the snow and ice are almost alll melted and it's sunny and warmer. Lee arrived yesterday and here he is with Elena. That is my piano from when I was 8 years old. I have a Christmas picture of Steve and Serena as little ones in front of it. Another pic is of Dr. Cloyd, the OB doc with the new family. Finally, the best pic of Elena I've caught so far. Mostly she's busy sleeping or eating. The contrast of her tiny hand with Erich's big one is quite amazing.
This is the proud mama with Elena. Serena has been doing a completely bang up job breastfeeding and Elena is the perfect eating machine. We actually have to wake her every three hours to eat, she's too polite to cry. Then she chows down, and promptly goes back to sleep.
Almost forgot Laurel Belk, holding the baby in the church. She's been Serena's friend since fifth grade, from when they were 10 years old or so. She is living only about 30 min away which has been really fun. She also has been very helpful of course. We made a wonderful huge pot of minestrone together. She helped me chop all the veggies since my hand is still an issue. I only have 12 more days in the splint. Thankfully I have the special molded splint instead of a thumb spica cast. Makes it much easier.

There are pix of Elena in her carseat, me holding her, her dad Erich holding her after her naming at the church, and one in the Moses basket that I made in 1980 for Serena. Bright calico and gingham very 80's!! Also the knitted blanket in that pic is the one I made for Serena. The yellow fuzzy blanket in the carseat pic is one of the ultra soft new fleece style that was from either the Schannons or the Bianchis I think. Her first Nordstrom's item!! Serena has actually been waking her for feeds when her milk comes in every 2-3 hours, hardly any crying. Serena's gotten some sleep. Erich, Mr. Night Owl, has been multitasking, taking the night shift so Serena can get more sleep. I almost forgot that pic. He can compute, eat, and hold Elena. No buildings to leap lately.
